Using some smart ideas and planning, the bulk of the issues created can be limited or stopped completely. One of the main issues that has arisen from examination of these impacts is the working conditions in the factories run by Foxconn and Pegatron.
As previously mentioned, the working conditions in these factories are cruel and unfair on the workers. Many viable options could be used to treat this issue but after weighing up the pros and cons, one option is a clear choice; to allow trade unions.
Allowing trade unions would open up a whole new side to factories with a lot of impacts. Trade unions would mean better working conditions for the workers as a whole meaning the factories would have a higher output rate of products to sell. Workers could make deals with the operators to, for example, get a higher wage for the week in exchange for higher output.
Like any choice, there are some negatives in allowing trade unions. These include lost productivity if workers go on strike to demand better conditions and unemployment could be created from the higher wages put in place. Although these negatives are present, the positives far outweigh them.
In an anonymous survey conducted by myself, most people said that they would be willing to pay a little more on Apple products if they were made under fair working conditions. Not only would trade unions be beneficial to the workers, but for Apple as well as it would attract more buyers for being one of the firsts to do this in the electronic industry.

By taking into consideration the social, environmental and economic positive and negatives of allowing trade unions, I have come to the conclusion that they would most certainly be the best option to improve working conditions in factories.
